CAMOLA has been in existence since 1992 and has evolved a lot. The main purpose of the group was for Cameroonians to meet once in a month and socialize. Things eventually changed as members began to realize that Lowell was becoming more of a home to them.The following are some of the achievements CAMOLA is proud to have been a part of;

CAMOLA is thirteen years today, thanks to the dedication of its founding members and friends.This organization is proud to be the only African organization in Lowell that has been in existence for this length of time. CAMOLA also celebrated its 10th anniversary in grande style with the presence of the Fon of Mankon in the city of Lowell in 2002.

CAMOLA provides a special group term life insurance not only to its members but to the Cameroonian community as a whole to help with the deportation of our loved ones back home incase tragedy strikes.

CAMOLA is a registered non profit organization with 501(c) status.

CAMOLA succeeded in establishing a sister city relationship between the cities of Lowell Ma. and Bamenda Cameroon on November 6th 2002.

CAMOLA's contribution through father Tantoh of Cameroon, West Africa helped to start the building of an ophanage home for kids in a small village in Cameroon called Tatum.

CAMOLA send some donation to Educare Africa, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the living and learning conditions of students in Cameroon.

CAMOLA is a participant of the city of Lowell race relations council since 1999 as well as the Lowell Non profit alliance.

CAMOLA is proud to have been the only African organization that has allowed women to be president of the organization. The first female president was in 1999. Since then, there has been two more women in a row. This is really history.

It has always been the dream of this organization to make the children know their heritage and appreciate the cultural aspects of it. Thanks to help from the Patrick J. Mogan Cultural Center, the kids will be celebrating their first ever Youth day on August 6th 2005. There will be cultural dances, story telling and traditional games played in Cameroon. CAMOLA intends to make this a yearly celebration.
