Congratualtions Mr.
& Mrs. Mokoro
CAMOLA wish to congratulate
Mr. Mokoro Julius, one of the founding members of this organization
who tied the knot of matrimony on March 24, 2007 at Atlanta
Georgia. We heard from the vines that Julius was all smiles
and his lovely bride Shannon was full of tears.(tears of joy).
Welcome Julio to the house of the "kwifons". Pictures
coming soon.
Cameroonian family
delivers triplets.
2004
was a very good one for us in Lowell. There
is the saying that "A child belongs to the mother only
when it is in the stomach. Once the child is out, it belongs
to the community." We are blessed not only with one child
but with three from two Cameroonian families here in Lowell.
The first set was born on September 14, 2004 to the parents
of Martha and Al Koroma. They had two boys and one girl.
The second set of triplets came on December 8, 2004 to the
parents of Bibianne and Richard Bateboga. They also had two
boys and one girl. On behalf of the Cameroonians of Lowell
Association, we will like to say Congratulations once more
to the parents.
The Cameroonians of Lowell visited Martha and Al with some
gifts to the children. They also visited the Batebogas'. Parents
and children are doing great.
Taking
into consideration that this is an unusual birth situation,
The Cameroonians of Lowell are appealing to anyone who can
help in any way both financially and otherwise to please let
us know. Whatever is given will be passed on to these families.
Give us a call (978) 452-4270) or send us an email.

Cameroonians of Lowell
salutes local hero for outstanding community service.
On Wednesday, October 22, 2004,
Community Teamwork honored nine Greater Lowell residents for
going above and beyond to improve the quality of life for
others at its 10th Annual Evening with Local Heroes. Two hundred
and sixty people filed into Lenzi's Catering in Dracut to
celebrate their heroes and participate in the recognition
event. Fru Nkimbeng, one of the founding members of the Cameroonians
of Lowell Assoc. was one of the recipients. Congratulations
Fru. We are very proud of you and continue the good job. Click
here for some pictures.
Cameroonians of Lowell's kids dance troop is going
places.
One
of the greatest achievements of this organization is to be
able to pass on the culture to the new generation. This new
generation are the children who are born in this country from
Cameroonian parents. Most of these kids know very little or
nothing about the culture. CAMOLA tries to pass this on through
traditional dances and folk tales just as it is being done
at home. The camola kids dance as we call them have performed
in so many places and occasions such as weddings, festivals,
fundraisings and birthdays. For a very limited fee, these
kids can put a smile on your face. If you have an occasion
and you don't know how to spice it up, let us know. The kids
will do it for you.
