The
Cameroonian
American Youths of Lowell CAYOL, invites you to their Third
Annual Youth Day Celebration planned for June 9th 2007 at
the JFK Civic Center from 10 AM to 4 PM..
Last
year CAYOL did a walk for one of their members Diane Mokoro
who was diagnosed with ACUTE LYMPHOBLASTIC LYMPHOMA, a kind
of CANCER in August of 2005. This effort was being coordinated
by Cameroonians Of Lowell Association (CAMOLA) with a fundraiser
component through Avon to supplement Diane’s out-of-pocket
expenses. It was a great success. Click here
for more information on Diane.
The
idea of a youth day celebration started three years ago when
members of CAMOLA felt it was time to introduce our children
to the kind of lifestyle we were used to in Cameroon. 11 February
celebration was the closest and most appropriate. We applied
for grants to help us make this day special for our kids.
Thanks to the Patrick J. Mogan Cultural Center, The Cameroonian
American Youths Of Lowell (CAYOL) has been able to celebrate
youth day every second saturday of June.
There
will be performances by the CAMOLA Kids Dance troupe, lots
of fun activities for the kids. Typical Cameroonian games
such as tabala, dodging, mujang, sack race, egg and spoon,
mankala etc will be show cased. Come listen to the Camola
parents tell stories "Arabian Nights, boys and girls
are you ready to hear my story" like you've never heard
before.
COME
ONE COME ALL!!
Lots
of food and drinks for everybody. Parents, please we will
not mind extra food and drinks.
African
Attire Required Please.
Thanks
to the Patrick J. Mogan Cultural Center for helping to make
this dream a reality.
